Bianca (aka the Desperate house Witch) and Anthony Joseph (the dinosaur) hosted a fantastic Halloween party! The kids all looked so cute in their costumes and EVEN kept them on for most of the time! The moms looked great too! We feasted on yummies, had a Halloween read aloud, had a pin the face on the pumpkin game, and color your own pumpkin. The annual Halloween pic of all the kids came out cute, but reminded us about how big our BABIES are!

Friday we finally made it to Blue Jay Orchards (here in the great town of Bethel, CT)for some FUN MINUS the rain (thank god). We began our day with a great picture by the tractor, and then made it on a hayride. All of the kids were content! After we took some more pics (like on the "cool" bus) and then let them loose on the open field. We even took a short hike around the grounds (thanks to our line leader Melody!). The kids all seemed completely happy...nobody cried...nobody whined...and nobody cared where their mom was...because they were exploring and enjoying the great outdoors. It was SUCH a great time that Split Milk might go back for Halloween day!

The coloring crew

The plan was to go pumpkin picking today but with possible rain showers looming and no hayride we rescheduled to Friday. I look forward to being able to post cute pics of the kiddies and the pumpkins!

So the crew went over Emily and Julia's today. As the kids get older the time of the group is getting later and later thanks to naps! Everyone seems to be at about the same schedule minus my monster of course who can not seem to keep his eyes open from 7am-noon which means a morning nap and a CRANKY afternoon refusing to sleep. I must publicly apologize to Emily who has such a lovely home before my son came in and tried to destroy it. Lets see...he tried to force cookies down her central air vents, break her sliding glass door by banging it, took all the moss out of her tree, and threw whatever was insight around. UGH. Finally I gave in and took him home. The rest of the kids played so nicely that the rest of the moms had a nice relaxing time chatting around the dining room table. We all realized that it has been weeks...maybe a month...since we all could make a play group. On a day that felt like summer...it was nice to have "Fall food" (Meridith's Apple Spice bread and yummy pumpkin cookies). Next week is our groups Halloween party hosted by Bianca and Anthony Joseph! We can't wait!
